Mahmoud, an award-winning filmmaker and creative consultant, has garnered international recognition for his outstanding work in the Arabian Gulf and Europe. His impressive portfolio of multi-lingual productions has graced top-tier festivals and museums, reaching global audiences through worldwide broadcasts.

His feature documentaries stand out with numerous awards, including the prestigious Tribeca Audience Award for Grandma, a Thousand Times, personally presented by Robert de Niro, and a New York Times Critic's Pick. In 2015, Mahmoud received Esquire Magazine’s Humanitarian Award and secured a spot on the "100 Most Powerful Arabs Under 40" list after the success of Champ of the Camp, a documentary highlighting a singing competition within the labor camps of the UAE. Notably, his documentation of the aftermath of the Beirut blast in 2020 resulted in My Family & The Explosion, which premiered on Dutch broadcaster HUMAN Omroep in The Netherlands. Mahmoud's upcoming project promises a worldwide journey in the footsteps of Handala.

In his role as a consultant, Mahmoud provides invaluable insights into content and storytelling, particularly in the burgeoning museum landscape of Saudi Arabia. He dedicates time to mentoring emerging filmmakers for Imagenation Abu Dhabi & Doha Film Institute. In 2019, he spearheaded the development of TRU Doku, a YouTube/IG documentary channel for youth, streaming on behalf of Germany’s broadcasters ZDFinfo & funk.

Mahmoud, a graduate in Film Production from the Mel Oppenheim School of Cinema in Montréal, Canada, embarked on his career with Being Osama for CBC at the age of twenty-three, following an internship with the National Film Board. Later, he founded Veritas Films in Dubai, managing it successfully for a decade. The company excelled in producing branded content for corporations and governmental offices across the Arabian Gulf, along with innovative documentaries.

Beyond his professional achievements, Mahmoud's passions encompass bel canto, Jivamukti yoga, cycling, and 5Rhythms, adding depth and diversity to his creative journey.
